Virgo is not your traditional Calling Service. Look at what they offer – check out their rates – compare them to other companies. Whether you’re registered with 10 other companies or none at all, you can join Virgo risk free and never pay a dime until you work on one of their projects. This is is a fair way for this company to do business and they often cast higher rate commercial Non-Union Background Jobs in the Los Angeles area.

  1. Virgo Talent is a great service. The owners are professional, courteous and respectful and many times they are on set insuring that everything is running smooth on their productions. The BG folks are also solid. The rate for non union is double that of the non-union rate for TV and film. They only take a small percentage of your pay only when you work (like an agent). I’ve been with them half a year and have worked some very good commercials and it’s always fun.

Way back in the 80′s I used to have a service that took or wanted percentage of your wages. When I would be recalled and contacted from the production company they would see my name on the call sheet and demand money. I am union so there is a issue with taking wages from background artists.

  5. Hello

I would like to be considered to work in different TV shows, Movies and Commercials. I am joining Aftra soon and I am Sag eligible. I have a friend who joined you a year ago and mentioned to me you were very professional and a great company to work with.

I have plenty of experience when working for Central Casting and LA Casting so I know how to work productively and to follow instructions when working for the different tv productions.

Please let me know how can I register with you and what I need to do so. My phone number is 2134220092 and my e-mail is: Pcruz1@hotmail.com

    Regards,

    Patricia Cruz

  6. An article on “Casting companies ordered to end fees for extras” was run in the times this past May 18th. What is your reply about doing this?

I personally feel that the Calling Services and Casting Agencies are providing a very good service for the studios and productions who hire them. The same companies who often pay actors and crew on their payroll extraordinarily high incomes. Therefore, I feel that the Casting Agencies and Calling Services should make more money from the productions, and never charge their product (The Background Actors) a penny for being their product. It’s disgraceful to charge someone money to obtain minimum wage work for greedy productions who pay others a lot of money.
